There were many wonderful aspects to our family vacation in Florida early this past April:

The gorgeous 19th floor condo overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, willingness on the part of my amazing in-laws to look after the little one, adult beverages by the pool at noon, warm weather, sandy beaches and emerald colored water are all at the top of the list.

But my favorite part took place as I wandered the beaches and the state park, confusing vacationers who couldn’t understand why I was laying in the sand with a camera smashed up to my face photographing the tiniest things I could find.  Who would think twice about those shell fragments, rusty bottle caps and pieces of seaweed when there’s sunbathing to do and tropical drinks to consume?

Who else but the photographer with a brand new macro lens?

I had so much fun editing these,  stretching my HDR muscles and creating some new Photoshop presets.  Please shoot me an email if you’re interested in purchasing anything on my site as a print.  Enjoy!
